University of Idaho, Moscow, Idaho. The College of Agriculture serves the entire state as do other land grant universities.

Center for Agroecology and Sustainable Food Systems, Santa Cruz, California. This research station has a known outreach effort for their organic farming studies.

Small Farm Center in California, Davis, California. The SFC has an excellent relationship with the operators of small-scale, family-owned or managed farms or markets, often with limited resources.

UC Sustainable Agriculture Research and Education Program (SAREP), Davis, California. A key outreach program for the University of California, with a number of excellent programs including BIFS , organic farming, and a series of publications.

University of California Ag and Natural Resources Publications, Oakland, California. Probably the largest source of publications on the west coast devoted to all phases of agriculture and natural resources.
